The Facilities Fire Protection and Controls Technician supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:
• Install, maintain, or repair life safety systems, alarm devices, or related equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans
• Test backup batteries, VESDA systems, life safety system functions, life safety devices, or other electronic features to ensure proper functioning or to diagnose malfunctions
• Perform repairs and inspections on fire detection systems
• Troubleshoot and repair circuits, following wiring and system specifications
• Provide fire system related training for the facilities maintenance team
• Optimize Fire Protection Systems Preventative Maintenance plans to ensure facilities equipment availability
• Creates situational reports for critical equipment and develops procedures to manage system anomalies, accidents, fires, and other emergencies
• Coordination with engineers, general contractors, and end users to determine requirements and implement code compliant solutions
• Assist in developing and maintaining facilities-related process documents and trainings
• Meeting and escorting contractors within the Restricted Area of the base and the facility
• Assists organizational leadership with other tasks as identified
This position can be filled at Schriever SFB, Colorado Springs, CO.
This position is expected to pay $86,500 - $111,500 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 8 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 6 years of general experience; Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of general experience; Master’s degree and 2 years of general experience
• Must have 5 years directly related experience
• Fire Alarm equipment testing and repair experience is required
• Possess and maintain relevant certifications and licenses, specifically NICET II
• Thorough understanding of NFPA standards/codes
• Ability to work on ladders and scaffolding
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Able to work independently and also in a team environment
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs such as: Word, Excel and Outlook
• Must have, or be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance
Desired Requirements:
• Familiarity with Siemens Desigo, Siemens Insight, and Eaton Foreseer
• Familiarity with Maximo as a CMMS
• Experience working with Government customers
• Project Management experience
• Colorado Electrical License or equivalent
• Understanding of United Facilities Criteria (UFC)
• OSHA 30 training/certification
• Supervisory experience
