Who Are We? We are a non-profit organization that is committed to helping families in the Greeley community with childcare. We are an employee based childcare center for Yoder Family of Companies and we also support childcare needs for first responders of the City of Greeley, and church members of Journey Christian Church.
What Would You Do? The right candidate will have a hands-on, leadership role with day-to-day duties that is responsible for managing an early childcare childhood center licensed for 40 children and managing 10 teachers as an understudy for the Center Director. This role assists the Center Director with any needs of the center and performs all Director duties in the Center Director’s absence. The Assistant Director will spend approximately 50% of their time in the classroom providing support and direction to the teachers.
What will you be responsible for?
Assistance to the Director/Understudy:
- Staff Management:
- Assist with recruiting and hiring new staff members to meet classroom licensing requirements.
- Oversees staffing allocation and scheduling for three classrooms, catering to different age groups (6 weeks-12 months, 1 year-3 years, and 3 years-6 years).
- Teacher Support, Curriculum, and Training:
- Provide guidance, training, and support to teachers, fostering their professional development.
- Participate in and conduct regular assessments of teachers to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure the completion of weekly curriculum plans and child assessments, promoting a stimulating and developmental learning environment.
- Enrollment and Family Communication:
- Handle inquiries, conduct enrollment procedures, and conduct tours for prospective families.
- Maintain open and proactive communication with families within the center, building and maintaining positive relationships.
- Ensure the classroom app (Tadpoles) is updated daily, including taking pictures and other daily reports of naps, diaper changes, meals, and other activities.
- Compliance, Quality, and Record Management:
- Oversee child files, ensuring they comply with state licensing requirements.
- Stay informed and up to date with Colorado Licensing rules and guidelines.
- To enhance program quality, utilize the Professional Development Information System (PDIS) and Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS).
- Attendance and Financial Management:
- Monitor and track center attendance, utilizing an Attendance Tracking System (ATS) and managing the Childcare Assistance Program (CCAP) as needed.
Classroom Floater Responsibilities – Providing Teaching Backup
- Creates and maintains a warm and secure classroom where children within your care feel safe, loved, and ready to explore the world around them.
- Implements age-appropriate curriculum and guides children through enjoyable activities that promote their development and learning.
- Ensures a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care and development for all children in the classroom.
- Follows classroom schedule and routine based on the unique needs of each child, fostering a structured and nurturing environment.
- Adheres to Safe Sleep policies at all times to ensure children’s well-being during nap times.
- Labels bottles and follows proper feeding routines for each child, ensuring individualized care.
- Proactively maintains all necessary details related to children’s portfolios and completes all required daily forms.
- Maintains a safe, organized, and clean environment at all times, promoting a hygienic and stimulating space for infant development.
- Manages the classroom app (Tadpoles), including taking pictures and other daily reports of naps, diaper changes, meals, and other activities.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Do you have the necessary education and experience?
- Associate degree in early childhood education or equivalent is required.
- Valid Director license current with the State of Colorado is required.
- PDIS credential level 3 or higher or in the process of completing certification requirements.
- 2+ years of experience working as an Assistant Director or Center Director is required.
- Previous experience working with children under the age of 6 is preferred.
