Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Software Quality Assurance Analyst to join our team in North Carolina. Remote work is available. This senior-level role requires extensive hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and overseeing testing solutions across various technology platforms, including web-based, client-server, service-oriented, and mainframe systems. Practical experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing testing activities to ensure high-quality software and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and oversee comprehensive testing solutions.
Identify, plan, and execute various testing activities (e.g., white-box/black-box, functional) to ensure application functionality.
Test diverse development technologies, including web applications, desktop applications (VB, .Net), API/web services, and legacy/mainframe systems.
Utilize middleware components such as IBM’s messaging queues or interfaces for application validation.
Create and maintain test plans, cases, test data, and summary artifacts.
Provide work estimates for testing activities and report on quality metrics.
Record and monitor issues until resolution.
Promote continuous improvement in testing methods and tools.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical, information systems, clinical, or business-related field. Clinical Healthcare IT experience is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a software quality analyst, utilizing software quality tools or hands-on lab systems experience.
Familiarity with established processes, SOPs, and testing methods throughout the software lifecycle.
Collaboration with IT entities (Business Analysts, Development, Support, Project Management) as required by task or project deliverables.
Ability to interpret business or product requirements documentation to perform appropriate test validation.
Creation and review of test plans and test summary documentation outlining test approaches and outcomes.
Development of test cases and scenarios based on defined requirements documents.
Provide testing updates and metrics throughout the test execution process.
Serve as a liaison between IT entities and the business community (internal or external customers) to ensure alignment on test executions and processes.
Organize and manage assigned tasks, provide project estimations, and perform risk assessments and planning.
Offer peer support and production support during normal or off-hour timeframes.
Self-manage analysis and quality processes throughout the software lifecycle while continuously driving quality improvements.
Ability to analyze complex processes and develop logical conclusions to implement effective solutions.
General Skills:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical, business, or clinical discipline.
Understanding of software testing methodologies, tools for artifact creation and management, and various testing types.
Ability to work independently without supervision.
Laboratory experience working with LIMS systems is a major plus but not required.
Technical Skills:
Experience with mainframe, web-based, .NET, VB, middleware components, API/services, and other development technologies.
Proficiency with software tools such as HP Quality Center/ALM, Microsoft TFS, JIRA/Zephyr, and Confluence.
Familiarity with various lifecycle methodologies (Waterfall, Agile) and testing methods (Functional, Integration, System, User Acceptance, Usability).
Knowledge of clinical content and file formats, including Health Level 7 (HL7), FHIR, and JSON.
Understanding of HIPAA and other regulatory compliance policies is desirable.
