We are currently seeking a Senior System Administrator to work with our Network Operations team. This is an onsite position in our Jacksonville, FL location. The System Administrator's role is to work as part of a team to ensure the stable operation of the in-house computer network and cloud services. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, optimizing and securing all network hardware, software and communications links. The person will also analyze and resolve end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely accurate fashion and provide end user training where required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage servers and cloud offerings including email, print, web, database, file and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software as well as all storage systems
- Manage security solutions including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion prevention systems.
- Manage all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, and UPSs
- Ensure network connectivity of all workstations in all offices
- Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights
- Perform server, storage, and security audits
- Conducts research on network products, services, protocols, and standards
- Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs
- Maintain confidentiality with regards to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.
- Document network problems and resolutions for future reference
- Light travel required
REQUIREMENTS:
- A 4-year degree relating to Information Technology - comparable work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- US Citizenship is required
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
- Applicant must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
At least 5 years of experience supporting users and computers systems with a minimum of 3 year of recent experience as a System Administrator supporting more than 200 computers and 20 servers with a proven proficiency in the following areas is required:
- Windows Server installation, configuration, management and support
- Clear understanding of standards and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
- Outstanding Customer Service oriented attitude
Proficiency in two or more of the following technologies is required:
- Cloud-based productivity suites (Office 365 is preferred)
- Cloud-based collaboration tools (Microsoft Skype for Business/Teams VoIP Phone Management preferred)
- Cloud-based infrastructure SaaS solutions (Azure AD, Exchange Online and OneDrive Management ideal)
- VMware vSphere management (VDI infrastructure management experience is a major plus)
- Active Directory design and management
- Switching/Routing (Juniper experience is preferred)
- Implementation and/or management of storage solutions (SAN, NAS, etc.) preferably NetApp
- Backup solution experience preferably Backup Exec and/or Veeam
- Palo Alto Firewall configuration and maintenance
Desired Skills/Achievements:
- Experience designing technical solutions based on vendor specifications and organizational requirements
- Operational experience with one or more mainstream Linux distributions
- Willingness to work occasional off-hours and weekends as required
- Patience and experience in working with both technical and non-technical users
- Strong oral and written communication skills essential
