Positions in this function perform various duties related to the fulfillment of prescription orders. They may dispense any or all of the following: unit doses, specialty pharmaceuticals, injectables, IV, enterals and related supplies following state and federal regulations and company policies and procedures. They may compound medications using appropriate components, supplies, and sterile/ventilated environment. They may process, pack and ship outgoing pharmacy orders, ensuring drug, related supplies, and patient collateral (education materials) are included. They may also perform drug/supply ordering and inventory/warehouse duties, including proper storage of drugs and supplies and appropriate refrigeration of perishable product, monitor and adjust/calibrate pharmacy equipment and fill dispensing units.
Technicians in regional and local pharmacies may also perform the following as permitted by state regulation: prep and scan documents, verify member/patient data, submit prescription orders in computer system. They will contact members/patients to validate data, resolve rejected claims, request payment information, establish priority of order or delivery details, consult on medication issues, and set up treatment in on-site facilities. They will also interpret provider prescription and create orders, access, input and retrieve prescription and medical/lab information from computer systems and verify whether order/drug is reimbursable/covered.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform various duties related to the fulfillment of prescription orders
- Dispense any or all the following: specialty pharmaceuticals, injectables, cell gene therapies, and related supplies following state and federal regulations and company policies and procedures
- Process, pack and ship outgoing pharmacy orders, ensuring drug, related supplies and patient collateral (education materials) are included
- May also perform drug/supply ordering and inventory/warehouse duties, including proper storage of drugs and supplies and appropriate refrigeration of perishable product, monitor and adjust/calibrate pharmacy equipment
- Process, pack and ship outgoing specialty distribution orders, ensuring drug, related supplies and accurate documents are included
- Prepare and scan documents, verify member/patient data, submit prescription orders in computer system
- Contact patients to validate data, resolve rejected claims, request payment information, establish priority of order or delivery details, address medication issues, and coordinate treatment with on-site facilities personnel
- Interpret provider prescription and create order, access, input and retrieve prescription and medical/lab information from computer system, verifies whether order/drug is reimbursable/covered
- Perform tracking logistics for outbound shipments to ensure arrived at destination
- Work to include triaging packages that were misrouted to ensure meet destination

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Michigan
- 1+ years of pharmacy experience
- Ability to work our normal business hours of 8:00am – 4:30pm EST including the flexibility to work occasional overtime given the business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience working in a warehouse OR supply chain inventory environment
- National PTCB certification
- Specialty pharmacy experience

- Ability to work efficiently without creating distraction or disruption to other employees
Physical and Work Environment:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
