Job Description
Purpose:
Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative for diagnostic purposes.
This position will work varied shifts, including day, evenings/ nights, holidays and weekend rotation. Primarily work location is the main hospital in Lawrenceville with occasional shifts at South location if convenient.
Responsibilities:
- Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.
- Demonstrates complete operation of specialty equipment, analyzes data promptly, and completes quality control activities.
- Assist with the training of staff and students.
- Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team.
- Performs all job responsibilities of Level I MRI Technologist including practices and maintains MR safety in the department, addresses patient safety through proper patient identification, labeling/preparation/and administration of contrast and communicating according to standard operating procedures, completes procedures according to protocol while presenting relevant information to physician, and updates and documents patient information into rad assessment.
- Promptly responds to medical editing requests.
- Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.
- Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.
MRI Tech:
- ARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS)
- Must obtain MR registry within 18 months of hire date
MRI Tech Adv:
- Completion of formal training in MRI-related program accredited by the ARRT 2 years MRI experience required. Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Must obtain MR registry within 18 months of hire dateCPR or BLS RequiredCPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- ARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
