This is a community-based position. We currently serve Washington, Ozaukee, Waukesha, and Dodge counties.Would you like to make a difference in the life of a youth in your community?The therapeutic mentor is responsible for providing the client with one on one activities in the community that are safe, and fun, and work towards goals developed by the youth and family team. Therapeutic mentors will have experience providing therapy or clinical services. The purpose of a therapeutic mentor is to mentor and be a role model to youth. They will also be available if a mental health crisis occurs while on a community outing or if the client requires a skilled clinician to accompany them within the community. Meetings are typically once a week for 1-3 hours depending on the client's needs. New Hire Orientation will be held at our Dousman campus, but the weekly activities will be within the community.JOB SUMMARYResponsible for supervision of the assigned client.To build positive relationships with clients.To be a good role model for clients. To help the client reach their goals and support them in their mental health recovery.ESSENTIAL DUTIESModel Behavior (act as a Role Model).Provide therapeutic interventions while doing activities in the communityMeet with the client every weekProvide Clients with a safe, therapeutic environment Build trust through commitment and consistency.Encourage the child to use his/her full potential.Maintain open communication with Client families and County Case Managers.Attend training offered by Lad Lake Inc.Attend Plan of Care meetings when necessary.Report any criminal activity, abuse, or other unusual happenings to your immediate supervisor.Enter case notes for each contact with the ClientJOB REQUIREMENTSMust be 21 years of age or older.Must have a Master's degree in social work, psychology, community mental health, or a related field. License preferred.Experience in clinical mental health services.Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.Must show proof of 100,000/300,000 Bodily Injury Auto Liability Insurance and 100,000 Property Damage Auto Liability Insurance.
