Hospital ACGME approved General Surgery Residency programis seeking an Associate Program Director/Academic Physician to provide professional expertise and leadership to lead a new General Surgery Residency. The program is approved for 16 residents and started in July 2017. This will be a university affiliated position. Experience teaching in an approved ACGME General Surgery Residency program and experience with publications and grant writing skills preferred.The Associate Program Director will assist the program director in providing administrative leadership and direction to the program. Position will provide direct patient care, supervise and precept residents in clinical settings; provide supervision and oversight of General Surgery residency support staff; assist with recruiting of residents; develop, revise and maintain curriculum, lead in residents performance improvement plans, coaching, remediation and disciplinary activities as needed; oversee and teach didactics curriculum to residents; oversight the outpatient continuity clinic experience, and assist in ensuring the Annual Program Evaluation with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education WebAds are updated.
