We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist to work the Day Shift. The selected individual will function as a nursing leader responsible for facilitating change toward higher levels of professionalism and competency by integrating and promoting evidence-based practice into nursing practice.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides leadership by catalyzing and facilitating change toward higher levels of professionalism and competency.
Provides expert guidance and support to nurses and other members of the perioperative team.
Acts as a clinical consultant and resource to patients, family, and staff in the area of specialty. Facilitates continuity of care for complex surgical patients.
Ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, cost-effective, patient-centric care and continually evaluates care delivery against ChristianaCare s strategic aims namely Optimal Health, Exceptional Experience, and Organizational Vitality.
Collaborates and recommends innovative solutions to identified gaps in health care delivery systems
Collaborates with professionals from multiple disciplines to enhance patient outcomes.
Appropriately utilizes advanced clinical decision-making skills.
Provides teaching and counseling to select patients and families.
Collaborates in the review of educational materials.
Utilizes participates in, and disseminates research to enhance practice.
Consistently guides staff in professional development, and acts as a mentor.
Coordinates select projects/programs, including the development and implementation of clinical pathways, care management guidelines, and protocols
Utilizes effective verbal and written communication skills with patients and colleagues.
Ensures compliance with regulatory standards for perioperative services.
Provides direct patient care as needed.
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices, reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
Works collaboratively with health equity leadership and their designated areas/departments to develop focused, equitable, and impactful health equity interventions, including partnering closely with iREACH, Quality & Safety and other partners involved in achieving AOP goals related to health equity in the perioperative setting. Manages a broad range of strategic and tactical activities related to the identification, development, and implementation of health equity initiatives in the perioperative setting.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Completion of a Master s Degree or Post-Master s Certificate CNS program
• Board certification as an Acute Care Adult-Gerontological Clinical Nurse Specialist
• At least three years of related clinical nursing experience.
• Licensure or license eligible for Advanced Practice Nursing as set forth by the Delaware Board of Nursing.
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• National board certification of CNOR, CPAN or CCRN preferred
