General Maintenance - 7105 Maint A-Mechanic
Position Summary
This position primarily provides mechanical repair and preventive maintenance of a variety of heavy mining mobile equipment and medium and light duty support equipment.
Supervisor Responsibilities
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Must have strong diesel equipment experience, particularly with dozers, haulers, motor graders and large loaders.
- Experience on medium and light duty equipment, such as pick up trucks, medium duty trucks, light plants, backhoes, forklifts, compressors, and diesel water pumps.
- Perform front line mechanic inspections, preventive maintenance services on both diesel and gasoline equipment.
- Utilize diagnostic tools including laptops, scanners and wiring diagrams and measuring tool.
- Must have experience and training on hydraulic and 12-24 volt electrical systems.
- Will perform repairs on heavy diesel engines, brake and suspension systems, drive train components, electrical and lighting systems, air conditioning systems and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Operate company vehicles and mining equipment in accordance with local, state, federal and company policies.
- Perform occasional facility maintenance.
- Maintain safe and clean work areas, and demonstrate safe work practices.

The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Education and Experience
- Certification in Diesel Maintenance or equivalent from a recognized trade program or completion of an apprenticeship program with relevant experience.
- Air Conditioning Certification and Electrical training preferred.
Licenses, Registration, and Certifications
- MSHA Part 48 training for mining operations is desired but onsite training will be given.
