Basic Function
Develop high precision mechanical product designs and processes for flow control devices which include; planning, scheduling and implementing project engineering efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design or assist in the design of flow measurement and flow control devices while maintaining project schedules.
- Develop theoretical models (fluid, thermal, structural) to assist the design and development of novel flow control devices.
- Design molded, welded, etched, stamped, machined, and extruded components including coordinating with electrical design group.
- Create 3D models and production drawings for components and assemblies in SolidWorks.
- Design tooling for proper assembly and testing of precision components.
- Direct and or perform design verification and validation testing of new designs including coordinating with service and reliability groups.
- Collaborate Cross functionally with Electrical, Firmware, Test, and Manufacturing Engineering to optimize designs for performance and manufacturability
- Work with Marketing to determine/gather product performance requirements.
- Use Siemens Teamcenter to store and retrieve engineering design and process documentation.
- Modify existing designs to improve performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability.
- Assign part numbers, create Bills of Material and define product configurations.
- Design and validate new production processes at global manufacturing sites and service centers.
- Initiate and assist in implementation of Engineering Change Notices.
- Design assignments may be occasionally broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity.
- Support company continuous improvement initiatives, particularly as related to product quality.
- Maintain and enhance department safety policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.

This position will be based out of our headquarters facility in Hatfield, PA (Suburban Philadelphia). In addition to our Pennsylvania operations, Brooks maintains manufacturing locations in, Hungary, and Korea. The Company also maintains sales offices throughout the world. Our products are used in laboratory and process applications in end markets such as: life sciences, chemicals, semiconductor, analytical instruments, nuclear, and solar cells.
