Join our team as an Advanced Practice Practitioner. In this role you will:
- Assume responsibility and accountability for rapid assessment, nursing diagnosis and works with MD partners to assure safe patient diagnostic testing and optimal plan of care.
- Perform advanced practice procedures.
- Utilize the nursing process to promote/restore optimal health and well-being of the patient.
- Assume personal accountability for organizational mission and core values.
This position is Monday - Friday. No Call Required
Advanced Practice Practitioner
Spine Center of Excellence Hospital Based
- Maintains repour with surgeons
- Weekly check ins with each Orthopedic Group/surgeon
- Primary contact for any Orthopedic-related question within the hospital
- Present at Grand Rounds each day to answer any OSL questions/patient questions which may arise.
- Runs the Orthopedic Service Line phone
- Created all pre/post-op education for Total Hip/Knee/Shoulder patients, both: online videos, in-person classes
- Participates in monthly specialty calls, including, Trauma Committee, Infection Prevention, Department of Surgery
- Responsible for Orthopedic Education to the 4N Med/Surg nurses
- Currently providing a monthly education video on different topics they have requested to learn more about
- On-site presence and teaching
- Tracking surgery times, readmission rates, cost, productivity
Qualifications
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified Advanced Practice Practitioners will need the following:
- 1 year of experience in a clinical or advance practice setting, preferred
- Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
- Master's Degree in Nursing as Nurse Practitioner, from a nationally accredited postgraduate certificate program required. Must be a graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing.
- Graduate from an Accredited School Of Nursing required
- Registered Nurse Practitioner Licensure for; and listed on the state Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) Registry required. Board certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, in applicable population foci and/or sub-specialty.
- RN License required
- BLS from the American Heart Association may be required depending on practice setting
- ACLS from the American Heart Association may be required depending on practice setting
- Have Prescriptive Authority (RXN) or have Provisional Prescriptive Authority (RXN-P), if applicable for role with associated articulated plan.
