Job Summary
- The LPN is responsible for assisting the Registered Nurse (RN) is assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the patient care.
- The LPN is accountable for all patients assigned to him/her according to established policies and procedures of Avera St Mary’s Hospital and the scope of practice of the licensed practical nurse.
- Carries out other responsibilities as delegated by Unit Supervisor.
Education and/or Experience
- Participates in educational opportunities and updates and maintains current professional clinical competency related to areas of responsibilities.
- Completion of an approved Hemodialysis treatment course.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Graduate from an approved licensed practical school of nursing with current practical nursing licensure in the State of South Dakota.
- ACLS certification is highly recommended.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) is required for all patient care staff.
Work Schedule
- Day shifts; 80 hours every 2 weeks
- ​​​​​​​8:00 am - 4:30 pm

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
