The person in this position will provide direct supervision of clients ensuring safety of all residents, model appropriate behavior, and compliance with program rules. Daily routine care and supervision will fall mainly to the Behavioral Health Technician. The person in this position will also assist in the provision of meals to facilities. Essential Job Functions include those listed below.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with chores and facilitate house meetings.
- Transport to community appointments such as medical, dental, social services, as needed.
- Complete support documentation and daily notes for assigned clients.
- May be required to witness/monitor clients taking medication.
- Assist with meal preparation in accordance with approved menus, meeting mealtime schedules.
- Assist with maintaining Health Department standards, cleanliness, sanitation while in kitchen or food prep or serving areas, including the wearing of gloves and/or hair nets or caps.
- Assist with labeling, dating, and storing all leftovers in accordance with safe food handling requirements.
- Utilize crisis intervention techniques to assist with de-escalation of situations ensuring safety for all.
- Work under the supervision of Program Manager.
- Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of WestCare Foundation.
- During your tenure with WestCare there may be new requirements, including, but not limited to vaccinations that are issued by local, State, Federal, and/or Funders that WestCare may have to comply with. Should this occur Human Resources or appropriate personnel will inform you.
- Other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience working with clients in a residential setting
- Minimum of 1 year experience in institutional food service.
- Certified Serve Safe Food Handler Certification or ability to acquire with 90 days
- Current Florida Driver License
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be 21 years of age or older
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Working Conditions:
- Indoor and outdoor setting.
- Potential for high noise level at times
- Regular attendance is required.
- Working overtime may be required and essential to perform job duties at times.
- The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, BUT exposure or potential exposure may be required as a condition of employment. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be readily available to every employee engaged in Category II tasks.
