24797 PRIMARY FUNCTION The Facilities Maintenance Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of all Baker facilities by conducting day-to-day equipment preventative maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime
- Perform quality checks on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems to ensure optimal functionality.
- Promptly address security and safety issues as they arise, taking necessary corrective actions.
- Test and recommend new maintenance products to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Coordinate deliveries from vendors and suppliers, ensuring timely receipt of necessary supplies.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections and maintenance activities, documenting any identified problems and solutions.
- Engage in landscaping, shop maintenance, and pest control efforts to uphold the overall cleanliness and appearance of the facilities.
- Manage inventory levels of cleaning and repair supplies, replenishing as needed to support ongoing operations.
- Provide training to team members on maintenance procedures and best practices, as applicable.
- Undertake additional job duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - Construction skills such as carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, roofing and welding
- 5-7 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician or equivalent
- Mechanically inclined
- Knowledge and understanding in the use of conveyors, PLCs, welding processes and equipment, drill press, packaging machinery, trailers, scales, grinders, hand and power tools, impact guns, bench grinders, and band saws
- Positive attitude and ability to problem solve and multi-task
- Ability to work at heights and confined spaces
- Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills for fixing maintenance issues
- Administrative skills for ordering supplies, handling records and scheduling maintenance
- Physical strength and dexterity to lift, move and handle equipment
- Stamina to deal with long hours standing or walking
- Strong verbal and written communication for discussing maintenance issues
- Organizational and time management skills
- High school diploma/GED, certificate in Machine Tool Technology or equivalent work experience
