Position Responsibilities
Leads development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish the system design.
Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment.
Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
Leads development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
Supports in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements.
Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.
Works under minimal direction.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
5+ years of work-related experience performing structural fatigue/stress analysis
Experience in fatigue and damage tolerance analysis
Ability to develop technical reports and present results
Proficient utilizing Microsoft Office Software
Preferred Qualifications
9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Level 4)
14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Level 5)
U.S. Secret Clearance
Knowledge and experience with fixed wing military aircraft platforms
Knowledge of Aircraft Structural Integrity Program and it’s requirements
Experience with structural analysis software such as PATRAN/NASTRAN, StressCheck and Lifeworks
Ability to understand and write engineering reports based on analysis results, test findings and maintenance reports
Experience with Spectrum Generation
Experience with Full-Scale Fatigue Testing and/or other structural and material testing plans
Ability to provide training/mentoring to early career engineers
Experience working in a diverse Integrated Product Team (IPT)
Strong oral and written communications skills
Typical Education/Experience
(Level 4) Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
(Level 5) Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). Summary pay range (Level 4): $115,600 - $156,400
Summary pay range (Level 5): $136,850 - $185,150
