Job Description
The staff accountant will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for multiple business entities. The staff account will work under the supervision of the senior accountant.
Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist with the financial reporting process for a portfolio of business entities by completing month, quarter, and year-end closing duties.
Apply accounting techniques and standards to the classification and recording of financial transactions.
Conduct transactional and variance analyses on general ledger accounts and use knowledge of business to analytically understand trends.
Prepare general ledger account reconciliations and journal entries.
Participate in annual financial audits by assisting with work paper preparation and interacting with external auditors.
Assist with the annual budgeting process.
Perform financial and business-related analyses and complete special projects.
Cross-train/assist in other accounting and operations areas, including payroll and billing.
Qualifications required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
0-2 years of related accounting experience
Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and ability to apply them in practice
Working knowledge of internal control processes
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically skilled in Excel
