Position Summary:
Coordinates the clinical aspects of the Cardiovascular program and guides the nursing teams that provide immediate care to Cardiovascular patients as well as coordinating referrals from physicians and health care facilities. Guides patients with cardiac and vascular DRGs through the complex care continuum. Acts as a liaison to the community for Cardiovascular care by providing and organizing education awareness, and prevention and rehabilitation services. Develops educational programs for nurses, clinical staff, physicians, and EMS. Facilitates physician collaboration and utilizes an interdisciplinary approach to Cardiovascular care to improve outcomes in a cost-effective manner. Assures patients receive care that consistently follows evidence-based standards and is in accordance with defined regulatory standards. Participates in the collection and monitoring of data for quality improvement of patient care. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
The Cv Surgery Coordinator serves as the liaison between the quality department and nursing. Ancillary departments. Performs CV Quality validation duties for the Market CV admin and Market CV Surgery Medical Director. Works collaboratively with physicians and clinic office managers, nursing/ ancillary directors to facilitate projects affecting the facilities preforming CV surgeries.
Responsible for coordination of quality monitors, process/ performance improvement and assist with regulatory compliance.
Plans, coordinates and implements the quality management and improvement for the market CV Surgery programs, hospital and CV medical staff initiatives with concentration on CV Surgical patient populations.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Minimum: Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from accredited college or university
Preferred: Master’s of Science in Nursing from accredited college or university
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum: 3 years clinical experience for patient population in specialty area
Preferred: Prior patient teaching
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:
Minimum: Possession of current Florida State license for Registered Nurse, BLS–Obtained through approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network.
Preferred: Specialty Certification
