As a Technical Writer (Project Hire), you will be responsible for updating, improving, and coordinating the workflow and publishing of site-specific technical content for the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. This includes but is not limited to, the manufacturer's requirements, maintenance instructions, training materials, and associated technical content for Disney Parks and Resorts.
You will report to the Manager of Worldwide Safety Tech Publications
What You Will Do
- Development of new content, based on input from engineering, quality, and maintenance teams, revisions, and sustainment of existing content
- Entering, configuring, and proofing technical content, coordinating workflow, including editing reviews, approval, and final publishing to the SmartTeam repository
- Playing a key role in the creation and testing of new content in the TechSource system
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 2+ years of experience in the technical publications field, including a thorough knowledge of technical publications
- 2+ years of experience in the development of schedules and work plans to accomplish defined goals
- 2+ years of experience with technical subject research
- 2+ years of experience in technical documentation dealing with mechanical and/or electrical and electronic systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Good interpersonal and interviewing skills
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects for self and others
Education
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Degree
