The Warranty Model, Lead performs the following functions for the Commercial Finance team:
- Acts as a liaison between company's Reliability Data Scientist and Commercial Finance team to refine and enhance vehicle Warranty Model, which is built in Databricks and coded in Python.
- Scales the Warranty Model to include new cohorts, vehicle variants, and other products.
- Maintains fidelity of the Warranty Model inputs and assumptions.
- Ensures that the warranty model complies with accounting standards, SOX controls, and is actuarially sound.
- Performs and coordinates Warranty Model updates.
- Reviews and monitors warranty data through automated reports and dashboards.
- Prepares and presents insightful analyses to support leadership in decision-making.
- Supports internal and external audit requests.
- Supports SEC financial reporting requirement requests.
The following credentials are required for this role:
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, or related field
- 6+ years of warranty experience
- Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis
- Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, SQL, and programming languages (ex: Java/Python)
- Analytical mind with strong conceptual and critical thinking skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
