The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Avionics Electrical Design and Analysis Engineer to support the AvionX organization, to develop Hardware Avionics Design. This position is located in the greater Saint Louis area of Hazelwood, Missouri.

The Avionics Design and Analysis Engineer leads a geographically diverse engineering workforce to achieve technical excellence throughout the product development lifecycle, applying an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, integrate, validate, and verify hardware.
Successful job performance depends upon balancing creativity and hands-on experience with individuals working on various Vehicle Management Systems and Aircraft computing systems; executability, and flight safety while meeting cost and schedule goals. You will drive first-time quality through extensive application of Model-based Engineering (MBE), virtual verification and validation (V&V), and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP). You will develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partnering organizations for the highest importance of ongoing and new business product development to The Boeing Company.
Position Responsibilities:
Leads analysis of customer and system requirements and development of architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various electronic products
Leads development of high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications
Leads reviews of testing and analysis activity to assure compliance to requirements
Identifies, tracks and statuses technical performance measures to measure progress and ensure compliance with requirements
Leads activities in support of Supplier Management with make/buy recommendations and other technical services
Coordinates engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product
Plans research projects to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements
Works under minimal direction
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
5+ years of experience in interdisciplinary engineering planning, design, development, integration, and validation and verification of avionics and/or electronics including hardware and software
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
8+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
Experience managing/leading engineering projects
Experience effectively communicating and collaborating on multi-discipline teams
Experience mentoring junior engineers
Experience leading multi-discipline design teams or a special project team
Experience in multiple focused areas: analog/digital circuits, gimbal design/control, power supply and distribution, firmware/Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), LabView, control systems, RF theory, Electro Magnetic Compatibility
Experience of Printed Wiring Board (PWB) design processes using Mentor Graphics Xpedition
Experience of a broad range of hardware types including RF assemblies, antennas, power supplies (alternating current/direct current (AC/DC)), FPGAs, digital signal processors, and embedded architectures
Experience of antennas, wave guides, gimbals, filters, complex electronics, RF signal processing, RF amplifiers, RF transceivers, Intermediate Frequency Processing, and/or serial rapid Input/Output (I/O) interfaces (SRIO)
Typical Education/Experience:
Senior (Level 4)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Senior (Level 5)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range Senior Level 4: $118,150 - $159,850
Summary Pay Range Senior Level 5: $145,350 - $196,650
