Job Summary:
As a key member of the Trivium Americas Finance Team, the Senior Accountant performs various accounting tasks during the monthly accounting close process, including related journal entry preparation and balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and SOX documentation. This role will work with operations, commercial, procurement, and the Corporate Finance teams to support other finance and accounting-related tasks as needed. This position is based out of specified plant with opportunity for upward mobility to other areas of Finance or Operations.
Job Duties:
Perform monthly closings duties, including preparation of standard journal entries and posting of journal entries in SAP in keeping with closing and financial reporting calendar.
Provide support and analysis for all plant specific accounts payable issues, working closely with Shared Services and requisitioners.
Prepare and manage purchase requisitions as required.
Prepare and review analyses to ensure that all balance sheet accounts are properly reconciled with supporting documentation.
Support both internal and external audits.
Manage the Capital Appropriation Request (CAR) from ideation to final project closure.
Support Controller in variance and trend analysis and prepare monthly expense reporting.
Support Plant Controller in budget and forecasting activities.
Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, standardization, and automation.
Ensure execution of all internal controls and documentation.
Assist with physical and cycle inventory counts.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a finance or accounting discipline.
Minimum of 2-4 years of related experience.
CMA, CPA, or MBA preferred.
Strong skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with the ability to learn new systems and tools quickly.
ERP Experience required; SAP and HFM experience preferred.
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, standard cost, and cost control principles including US GAAP (IFRS is a benefit but not required).
Ability to process information, prioritize deliverables, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Possess excellent leadership and organizational skills, business acumen and function well in a team-based environment.

Work Environment:
The position will work predominately in an office environment where sitting for prolong periods of time and using a computer, telephone and other office electronics are critical. The position will also need to lift up to 15 pounds on occasion. This position will also be exposed to working on the manufacturing floor, where moving machinery produces noises.
