The Pharmacy Smart Infusion Pump Systems Administrator designs, implements and manages the software and processes of the Smart Infusion server and related databases. This includes maintenance, upgrades, and development associated with the safe and reliable utilization of MaineHealth’s smart infusion pumps. The system administrator is responsible for the development of reports, coordination of upgrades and new implementations, and drug database maintenance and build. As a central resource for the health system, this position coordinates and helps resolve non-biomedical engineering problems related to smart infusion pumps. This position is centrally involved with leading the build, maintenance and optimization of MaineHealth’s bidirectional data strategy between smart infusion pumps and electronic health record to support safe patient care while ensuring efficient and user-friendly workflows for care team members providing direct patient care.

License/Certifications: CPhT certificate and/or Associates Degree is preferred. Eligible or currently licensed as a pharmacy technician in the State of Maine.
Experience: N/A
Proficiency using computers and exposure to relational databases or SQL.
Demonstrated knowledge and ability to automate routine system administration tasks.
Demonstrates superior interpersonal communications skills to accurately and succinctly discuss technical information system issues with internal and external hospital personnel.
Ability to collaborate on multidisciplinary teams to promote effective information systems.
Technical expertise for information technology and specifically Pyxis.
Understanding of local and wide-area networks.
