We are seeking a detail-focused Quality Technician for a packaging manufacturer in Methuen, Massachusetts.
Pay starts at $17.00-$20.00 per hour, depending on experience, operating on 2nd shift, 2:30pm-10:30pm. Employees are eligible to enroll in our Medical, Dental, Vision, and other benefit plans after 60 days of employment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED/equivalent
- Manufacturing experience preferred; Quality experience highly desirable
- Able to communicate effectively with colleagues and management, verbally and in writing
- Exceptional attention to detail, quality, and accuracy
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills
As the Quality Technician, you will coordinate quality assurance system and communicate with production on non-conforming material. The Quality Technician is responsible for the quality system, daily inspection of production processes, and administering quality testing as needed. Quality Technicians also perform daily audits of production processes to ensure manufacturing is conforming to job specifications, product verification, and process conformance to Factory Job Ticket requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform necessary testing using proper testing methods.
- Conduct and document QC checks on every workstation once per hour.
- Communicate any customer requirements into specification sheets for the production workforce.
- Coordinate sorting and repacking activities.
- Process retains from each department and quarantine products for sorting if necessary.
- Complete specific customer test requirements and forward them to appropriate individuals.
- Work with the Quality & Safety Manager to resolve problems and complaints through root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions.
- Inspect incoming raw materials if necessary.
- Report product defects to QA Manager for proper logging.
- Conduct internal audits as needed to support the internal auditor team.
- Ensure quality checklists are complete and accurate.
- Understanding of and enforcer of company ISO, GMP, and Safety Policy and Procedures and ensure staff is following.
- Monitor and print out Leary reports and notify the Quality & Safety Manager of any issues.
- Audit all glue lines for time/date stamp accuracy.
- Check all labels on glue lines to ensure that case labels and pallet labels match the job number on the job ticket.
- Check palletizer intermittently for proper pallet configuration and accuracy.
- Document defects with conciseness, accuracy, and details to ensure defects are not reproduced.
- Advising on procedures to improve production efficiency.
- Reporting safety and quality infringements to the QA manager.
- Understand manufacturing processes used throughout the facility for effective communication with the workforce for process improvement opportunities.
- Assist Management in improving process performance to improve profitability.
- Assist with Quality and Safety Manager on internal, second, and third-party audits
- Dyne tests every poly-coated roll upon receipt.
- Inspect all incoming Grade A and Grade B Pallets
