The Clinical Administrative Coordinator will support the administrative oversight of Optum Serve’s dedicated clinic’s day to day operations and will serve as the main point of contact for site. This role will ensure smooth operations, as well as organize and coordinate office administration and procedures to ensure organizational effectiveness, efficiency, and safety, and will be responsible for communicating and resolving provider and patient inquiries, incidents, and complaints. In addition, the Clinic Administrative Coordinator will also serve as a liaison with other Optum Serve teams, to ensure strong communication, transparency, and compliance with applicable regulations.
The Clinical Administrative Coordinator will also be responsible for initial triage of patients, will work with the clinical team, will manage incoming phone calls, and will provide information on available ancillary network services. This position may also assist in the care of the patient by attending examinations, as requested by provider or patient, and may need to follow through on obtaining exam results.
This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work weekends. Our office is located at 2200 W 3rd Street, Ste 500 Los Angeles, CA 90057
We offer 2 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8am - 5pm.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Employees are involved in direct patient contact within a clinic setting.
- Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate Optum Serve’s commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care, and concern with each internal and external customer.
- Supports development and implementation of plans to improve veteran satisfaction.
- Achieves financial objectives by supporting efficiency efforts with scheduling and service delivery as well as supply inventory management.
- Intervene in resolution of patient or provider complaints or issues as necessary.
- Implement process improvement activities to address areas of non-compliance or ensure procedures are followed.
- Measure employee/provider performance against internal procedures and protocols
- Ensure team members address gaps in performance against internal procedures and protocols.
- Identify causes of performance deficiencies and determine appropriate follow up actions.
- Maintains office efficiency by managing supply inventories.
- Ensure that necessary equipment and supplies to support patient care is available within clinic, organized and up to date.
- Enforces office policies established by Optum Serve Health Services
- Monitor Practitioner performance and site KPIs.
- Audit clinic on a regular cadence to ensure we are meeting established operational and safety standards.
- Monitor/maintain relevant training and certifications related to event/crisis management procedures and protocols

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- 2+ years of experience in clinic operations
- 2+ years of experience monitoring and ensuring compliance with relevant patient safety procedures and regulations (e.g., patient; laboratory)
- Process understanding of medical terminology, precautions, and exposure risks (e.g., bloodborne pathogens)
- Understanding of relevant state and/or federal policies, regulations (e.g., HIPAA), and scope of practice
- Knowledge of clerical practices and procedures
- Experience using Microsoft Word (edit, create & save documents), Microsoft Excel (editing spreadsheets)
- Ability to work our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work weekends.

California Residents Only: The hourly range for this is $16.00 - $23.94 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
