Vista Veterinary Specialists is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our team!--Our 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital provides care in internal medicine, critical care, radiology, and cardiology. Our modern facility offers a full in-house laboratory, digital radiography, ultrasonography, on-site CT, and endoscopy.About the Job:As a Veterinary Technician/Assistant in our Emergency/Critical Care department, you will be responsible for:Shifts: 4-10's, Day shift.Caring for a variety of cases- Emergency and Specialty Medicine.Must be able to prioritize patient hourly treatments--and delegate tasks. Triage critical patients, recognize changes in patient status and report to the doctor, educate/update owners on patient status,--and discharge patients from the hospital.--Assessing hospitalized patients needs and communicating details to the DVM overseeing the case.Inpatient treatments and nursing care throughout the shift.Calculating and administering medication, fluid additives, CRI's--Partnering with DVM's in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, and, free fluid.Placement and maintenance--of nasogastric tube, nasal cannula, central venous catheters.Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient assessment.Executing, monitoring, and recovering all assigned sedation and anesthetic events.Surgical assisting for minor (non-specialty) procedures.Our compensation for this role typically falls between $24.00 and $32.00 hourly. Compensation is based on skillset,--experience, and licensure.
