Salary: $110,000 - $135,000 base salary, commensurate with experience and billing goals. Bonus programs provide the opportunity for substantial additional compensation.

Summary:
ZKS LAW has an immediate opening for a strong Personal Injury Litigation Defense Attorney or Of-Counsel with 5+ years of defense litigation experience in the below areas. Trial experience a plus but not required. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to develop and build their practice for long-term success. Please note that while other experience is helpful, to qualify for this role one must have defense litigation experience in these areas:
* Personal injury defense
* Premises and/or product liability
* Insurance defense
* Litigation
Supervisory Responsibilities: Assigns work to department legal assistant.

Responsibilities, Skills, and Abilities:
* Conduct legal research and analysis on personal injury defense cases.
* Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
* Assist in the preparation of discovery requests and responses.
* Conduct depositions, witness interviews, and other fact-finding activities.
* Develop and implement case strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys.
* Attend court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as necessary.
* Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in litigation.
* Manage case files, deadlines, and documentation in an organized and efficient manner.
* Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on various matters related to personal injury defense litigation.
* Stay informed about changes in laws, regulations, and legal precedent relevant to personal injury defense.
Required Skills:
* Strong analytical and writing skills;
* Clear and effective communication skills;
* Able to work independently and in a collective team environment;
* Strong work ethic and an ability to meet deadlines;
* Experience using Westlaw for legal research; ATO experience preferred;
* Highly motivated and dedicated to excellent client service.
Education and Experience:
* Licensed in the state of Florida;
* 2-7 years of applicable defense experience, including litigation;
Physical Requirements:
* Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
* Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Work Environment:
* The first 90 days of onboarding/training are required to occur on-site.
* Subject to change per the Managing Shareholder: the team is currently working a hybrid schedule with two days weekly in office.
* More in-office time is required during trial preparation.
* Successful candidates will feel confident about their ability to work effectively and collaboratively, no matter the setting.
