JOB SUMMARY
The Employee Health and Education Coordinator administratively supports the Employee Health Department by providing professional nursing evaluations and care to employees, including contracted, and volunteers with on-the-job duties/illnesses/injuries, post-offer health assessment for all new employees, ensuring follow-up for completion of all requirements, including immunizations, TB screening, FIT testing, urine drug screen collection with review of results, and fitness-for-duty evaluation.-- --In addition, the Employee Health Coordinator will also work closely with the Employee Health Nurse on WhidbeyHealth's --Worker's Compensation program and assist in developing activities to focus on injury prevention, wellness, workplace safety, modified duty program and restoration of health.
The Employee Health and Education Coordinator administratively supports the Education Department by planning, organizing, and assisting with evaluations on in-services and continuing education programs at WhidbeyHealth. The Employee Health and Education Coordinator will also work closely with the Clinical Educator.-- This position will assist with data that is needed for various internal and external entities including regulatory bodies for WhidbeyHealth. This will involve gathering and validating references/data for educational purposes.-- In addition, assists with facilitation, resources, and consults --personnel with regard to educational needs.

PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONS includes the following, other duties may be assigned:
Demonstrate clinical RN competency to administer immunizations, interpret clinical results and communicate with providers regarding injured employees.
Assists with employee injury reporting, work restrictions, L&I case management and modified duty program with the assistance of WhidbeyHealth's TPA.
Assists with development, implementation, and leading employee wellness program.
Assists with the design and implementation of an injury prevention and safety awareness program.
Assists with reports and written presentations including slides for new hire orientation and weekly reports for department functions.
Assists with training for managers and supervisors related to injury reporting, injury prevention, modified duty and injury investigations.
Assists with development of an ergonomics program for WhidbeyHealth.
Administers COVID-19 testing of employees.
Maintains knowledge of administrative and nursing policies and procedures.
Attends seminars/education opportunities to enhance skills.
Serves on task, project and planning groups as requested.
Participate in weekly Nursing Management and every other month nurse staff meetings.
Conducts/assists staff in determining needs, planning in-service, or revising previous programs.
Functions as a facilitator, resource, and consultant for WhidbeyHealth personnel.
Responsible for keeping accurate educational internal and external attendance records for WhidbeyHealth.
Assists with education compliance for WhidbeyHealth.
Participates in selection and preparation of instructional equipment, aids, and materials.
Works collaboratively with the Clinical Educator and Employee Health Coordinator.

JOB KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Current Washington State RN licensure.-- A Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field with experience in Employee Health and Education is preferred.---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ----------
Training and Experience
A minimum of two years' experience as an RN working in a specialty area preferred.----------
Experience with working with healthcare data.
Must be competent and efficient in data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
Knowledge of nursing principles and procedures.
Must be able to present data in a manner understandable to WhidbeyHealth personnel while maintaining data validity.
Motivated self-starter with initiative to take independent action.
Interest in continuing professional education/development is essential.--
Ability to coordinate requests in a calm and professional manner.
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Able to handle detail-oriented work while meeting schedules and deadlines.
Able to think critically and analytically, and function independently.

Active Washington State RN licensure.
BLS Required.
Current and valid Washington State Driver License required. Must provide a copy of Washington State driving record upon hire, and may be subject to annual driving record checks based on facility insurance carrier requirements.
