The Bagger is responsible for the handling of defeated wheat germ to a specified schedule and packing in 50-pound bags, totes, or drums. This is a 3rd Shift Position with the working hours of 12:00am- 8:00am.
BAGGER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Handle the correct wheat germ according to a set schedule.
- Accurately estimate wheat germ needs while determining which silos or hoppers to route material for efficient production.
- Adjust the blender controls and hoses to be certain that the proper blend and storage devices have been selected.
- Keep accurate and orderly records on the type and amount of wheat germ blended for daily inventory reporting purposes.
- Responsible for weighing, blending, packing, and labeling finished product.
- Communicate effectively with staff daily.
- Perform cleanup for bagging and storage areas.
- Assist with monthly inventory of finished materials. Continually monitor finished material inventory.
BAGGER QUALIFICATIONS:
- HS diploma or GED required.
- Must be self-sufficient with the ability to work unsupervised and follow instructions.
- Ability to monitor product and equipment.
- Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures.
- Possess interpersonal and multi-tasking skills, and ability to read and write.
- Available to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift.
- On-the-job training is provided.
- Safety training is required and provided.
- Evenings, weekends, and shift work may be required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- This position requires physical efforts such as straining, pulling, lifting, working, and standing and walking on concrete floor.
- Exposure to elements such as noise, dust, cold and hot temperatures.
- Extreme climate or climate variation.
- Heat up to 100 degrees and low to 40 degrees.
- Changes of >30 degrees within a shift.
- Exposure to manufacturing equipment hazards, especially forklifts.
- Must be able to enter confined spaces and follow permit requirements.
- Climbing of ladders.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
