The Clinical Consulting Engagement Lead will be a part of a team responsible for the implementation and long-term management of clinical solutions for a strategic healthcare system client engagement. Our clients seek transformational solutions to managing health system clinical operations to reduce cost of care, improve quality and patient outcomes, and bring innovative solutions to solve complex problems. This individual will be responsible to help drive and deliver care outcomes for this strategic Optum client. The ideal candidate must be passionate about improving care delivery, effective at working in a fast-paced, high energy environment and confident in their interactions with senior leaders (C-suite), providers, and business partners.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide day to day engagement oversight to ensure delivery excellence, including presenting executive level reports and dashboards for demonstrating outcomes
- Ensure that client expectations and contract deliverables are met during the strategic client engagement
- Provide clinical subject matter expertise to support teams that have an initiative to drive financial and quality outcomes
- Structure complex acute and post-acute care delivery challenges into frameworks that can be analyzed and solved, and coordinate integration of Optum solutions across the continuum of care into client partnerships
- Lead and participate in assessment activities to establish scope of Optum engagement to address health system clinical operations opportunities while implementing Optum solutions
- Oversee and manage Optum Advisory team members either directly or through a matrixed, client-based environment
- Identify and support the junior consulting team in professional development opportunities
- Understanding of customer satisfaction and service recovery principals

Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years professional leadership experience in hospital/health system clinical operations
- 5+ years of experience working in a highly matrixed and complex healthcare organization
- 5+ years of experience developing and implementing hospital/health system operating plans, analyzing financial and quality data
- 5+ years of clinical consulting experience across multiple clinical and cost improvement-related areas (Experience in hospital-based management and/or clinical transformation consulting engagements resulting in significant recurring financial benefit)
- 2+ years of experience in change management and performance improvement methodology
- Proficient ability to use Microsoft products, develop and deliver presentations
- Willing and able to be onsite in Maine, Monday - Friday, depending on client needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse with current/active license in state of residence
- 7+ years of foundational understanding of health systems / provider organizations
- Proven ability to provide valuable insights and logical explanations when faced with difficult questions

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
