What We Are Looking For:
The role is a key leadership position within PSE's Economic, Rates, and Business Planning department. The responsibilities include driving energy innovation in PSE's markets, particularly focusing on engineering and consulting services. This involves spearheading initiatives such as beneficial electrification, demand-side management, energy resource exploration, feasibility and cost-benefit analyses, and load and price forecasting. Additionally, the individual will be expected to provide leadership and mentorship to both direct and other staff within the department, ensuring they have the support and guidance needed to excel in their roles.
What You Will Be Doing:

- Develop opportunities and client relationships in the areas of responsibility listed above.
- Develop, direct, and complete projects pertaining to, but not limited to, the following:
- Demand-Side management, including energy efficiency and demand response potential, feasibility, program development, implementation, and M&V/assessments.
- Beneficial electrification, including evaluating and designing various opportunities, programs, and rates for beneficial electrification. Examples may include evaluating public fast chargers, private charging programs, rates, etc.
- Forecasting, including helping develop utility-specific forecasts for solar, electric vehicles, and other technologies that may be of value to our clients. It may also include the completion of long-range load forecasts for distribution, G&T, or vertically integrated utilities.
- Power supply planning and evaluations, including feasibility, resource planning, RFP administration and evaluation concerning PPAs versus own and various resource types including DERs.
- At PSE, Energy Innovation encapsulates the above, but it also implies continual exploration, anticipation, and responsiveness to industry transitions. It is expected that new services and opportunities will present themselves or will be initiated within this role as PSE.
- Initiate and maintain client relationships and business development activities. This includes, but is not limited to, making presentations at industry meetings, making site visits, directing, and contributing to the development of informational materials, organizing, and planning various other marketing activities to help develop and grow PSE services together with other leaders in the department and across PSE.
- Other areas of expected contribution include assisting and leading various rate design projects, key account support for our clients such as contracts, rates, and proposals, and integrating the above service offerings with the rest of the department and across PSE.
- Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented problems, program objectives and requirements, organizing programs, and developing standards and guides for diverse activities.
- Actively participate in client projects with the intent of maintaining a 65% utilization rate.

- Provide meaningful contributions and/or leadership to PSE strategic and R&D initiatives.
- Provide general leadership at PSE by taking the initiative and building effective teams and relationships among all departments.
- Assist with recruiting new team members who fit PSE's needs and culture.
- Work cooperatively with other PSE team members to improve our efficiencies and work product.

What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in business or economics with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
- Must have experience managing, leading, coaching, and directing professionals and teams.
- Must have experience in the Utility industry in the areas of responsibility identified previously.
Knowledge and Skills
- The candidate shall be self-motivated and have technical experience in demand-side management, economics, new energy technologies, beneficial electrification, and forecasting.
- High level of interpersonal, problem-solving, critical thinking, leadership, and organizational skills
- Possess the ability to achieve quality results, be change-oriented, foster innovation, and be a continuous learner.
- Possess the ability to continually identify and recommend process and system improvements to facilitate efficiencies.
- Exceptional communication skills, including presenting in front of large audiences.
- Be forward-thinking with strong abilities to communicate new concepts.
- Work well on teams and individually.
- Experience with Microsoft software is required and ability to leverage various data analytic and visualization tools such as R Studio, Python, Tableau, etc. is preferred.
