In Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) we integrate, verify, and validate our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work hand-in-hand with our customers.
Operations, Maintenance, and Readiness (OMR) is a multi-disciplined team of engineers in planning and accomplishment of O&M tasks within Programmatic factory and operational sites. We ensure maintenance of our products. We work across multiple customer and factory teams, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop O&M guides and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, deploy baselines and patches, and work hand-in-hand with our customers.
We are seeking an Echelon 1 (E1) Engineer to join our team in at our factory site in Aurora, Colorado. In this role, the E1 engineer works with enterprise partners, customer, and factory teams to ensure maintenance of operational assets. This includes a detailed understanding of Vehicle, Space & Communications, end user intelligence needs and how to apply the system in support of intelligence needs. As an E1 Engineer, you will assist in operations and maintenance events. The E1 Engineer must have a clear understanding of all program-defined troubleshooting and debugging guides, the ability to replace LRU, and perform system and database administration. The successful candidate will have the ability to track and gather evidence for incidents and provide diagnosis to factory support team.
What You Will Do
- Work as part of the Operations, Maintenance, and Readiness (OMR) Team to include:
- Echelon 1 (E1) Engineer working as part of our team at the factory site
- Diagnosis software and hardware incidents troubleshooting and debugging
- Implement basic fixes documented in troubleshooting guides
- Perform hardware reboots and resets
- Replace LRU (Line Replacement Unit)
- Apply software patches
- Provide system administration support
- Provide database administration support
- Provide Operations and Maintenance (O&M) training to operators and enterprise partners
- Coordinate on-site installation
- Deploy baselines and patches
- Perform O&M integration, checkout, and test of system after hardware, software, and database deliveries
- Development of operational procedures and troubleshooting guide
- Preparation and conduct of program reviews
- Collaborating across functions in support of successful program execution
- Supporting technical interchange meetings with the customer
- Obtain and maintain access as required by program
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
- Security+ Certification
- Experience in Command and Telemetry, Mission Planning, and /or Hardware Control
- Experience with systems administration and database administration
- Experience with Linux OS
- Experience with the Atlassian Suite, including Jira and Confluence
- Experience engaging with and presenting to technical and programmatic leadership
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance with CI POLY prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Software, Hardware, and/or Network Engineering experience
- Systems Engineering experience on a large government program, with preference for ground systems solutions programs
- Experience with writing new operational procedures from scratch and maintaining/updating legacy operational procedures
- Expertise with troubleshooting complex S/W systems and develop issue closure plans with coordinated solutions across internal teams and external stakeholders

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
