Position Overview:
We are seeking a committed and dynamic High School English Special Education Teacher to join our team for the upcoming academic year. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both English education and special education, with a focus on creating inclusive and engaging learning environments.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.
- Plan and deliver differentiated instruction in English language arts, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
- Utilize creative teaching strategies to accommodate various learning styles and therapeutic needs.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of educators, therapists, and support staff to address student goals and progress.
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Foster a supportive classroom climate that promotes academic growth, social-emotional development, and self-advocacy skills.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, goals, and achievements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, English Education, or a related field.
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with high school students with mild to moderate therapeutic needs preferred.
- Knowledge of effective instructional strategies and accommodations for students with disabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
