Description: Responsibilities Basic PurposeResponsible for tax forecasting, preparation and compliance of Company’s various income and non-income taxes, tax accruals, preparation of various Federal and State tax filings, assistance with preparation of the 10-year tax forecast, preparation of franchise and property tax filings, FERC, SEC and regulatory filings.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the preparation of the Company’s complex tax calculations within the forecasting process. Additional areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to
- Monthly, quarterly and yearly income and non-income tax accrual(s) under FAS109 principles, including 10Q and 10K filings, associated roll forward schedules and reconciliations, and other supporting documentation required for the process
- Monthly regulatory reports & assistance with General Rate Cases
- Yearly income tax return (Federal and State)
- Quarterly estimated tax computations and payments
- FERC Form 1 & 2 (annual filing)
- Tax payments
- Tax research memos, as applicable.
Assesses and understands any new tax legislation and participates in development of tax policy. Contributes to the identification of potential tax issues, opportunities for tax savings, and recommends ideas to make assigned tax compliance more efficient. Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company, including the company scorecard. Participates in all business transformation efforts as applicable.
Requirements Essential Education, Skills, and EnvironmentEducation and Work ExperienceBachelor’s degree from an accredited school in accounting, finance, business, or related field and 6 years of related accounting or tax experience. Candidates that do not possess a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 10 years of related accounting or tax experience.
Specialized Knowledge and SkillsDemonstrated knowledge of:
- Federal and state tax laws, accounting and company operations
- Mergers and acquisitions
- Technical knowledge and understanding of the company's business processes
- Understanding of key policies, skills and procedures in functional and related areas of work. Skills such as:
- Organizational, planning, adaptable and accepting of change, communication, analytical, problem–solving, decision-making, and creative thinking.
- Prioritization and handling multiple tasks and projects.
- Interact with company personnel.
- Provide accurate input into the budget process and contribute to meeting the targets

Equipment and ApplicationsPCs, word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
Work Environment and Physical DemandsGeneral office environment. No special physical demands required.
Compensation Annual Salary: $87,600 (Min) to $103,100 (Mid); Up to 12% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented position.
