What You Will Do:
We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director of Systems Engineering - Chief Engineer. In this role, you will lead a program inserting critical capabilities and supporting integration into the enterprise in a capacity based, agile sustainment framework.
As the Chief Engineer you will be responsible for the technical follow through of the program, including leading sustainment efforts, providing support to operations and sustainment phases, achieving Ready to Transition to Operations (RTO), achieving Constellation Transfer (CTX) as well as Operational Acceptance (OA).
As Chief Engineer you will provide technical direction and clarification of the backlog to the product teams, lead analyses including and trade studies. You will be the definitive authority as it relates to the prioritization of the backlog and ensuring that priority is communicated to the product teams. In addition, you will interface with key Raytheon and Government leaders as well as personnel from other organizations and represent the program at technical interchange meetings. This includes coordination with the Government chief engineer and coming to a mutual understanding of the program priorities and program roadmap.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Establish and manage a product vision, strategy, and goals to align the Program with the Customer and facilitate conflict resolution.
- Identify projects, enterprise and technology needs affecting the definition of the appropriate lifecycle model and uses these in decision making.
- Support technical interchange meetings with program management and the customer and represents the organization in matters pertaining to the development of the project.
- Develop program growth strategies and supports capture/proposal efforts.
- Establish and maintains the program technical baseline.
- This position is an onsite role at our Aurora, CO (Denver area) campus with travel as required to deployed locations.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a bachelor's in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior engineering experience.
- Active and transferable Secret Clearance is required prior to start date.
- Experience with cross domain engineering roles and functions, with specific experience in one or more of the following areas: mission operations and sustainment, operations concept development, requirements administration, functional analysis/synthesis, system interfaces, and system verification and validation.
- 5 - 10 years' experience working with cyber security customers and responding to cyber security related requirements
- Experience in an agile - devops environment, coordinating with a Chief Product Owner, Release Train Engineer, Product Owners as well as product technical leads.
- Experience leading engineering teams.
- Experience providing technical direction and clarification of requirements and design to the entire Program team, including Systems Engineers, Software Development, and Integration & Test teams.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation skills to communicate status, issues, and resolution plans across all major stakeholders including Raytheon senior stakeholders, customers, and major subcontractors.
- SME level expertise in one of the following: Mission Engineering, Mission Management, Command and Telemetry processing.
- Experience in Satellite Command/Control, Mission Management or Flight Dynamics domain.
- Experience leading a diverse engineering team.
- Experience working in a multi-discipline environment.
- Experience working BOE development.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
