JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Vascular Sonographer in our Arringdon Cardiologylocated in Morrisville, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team to provide direct and indirect care to patients.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates proficiency by performing routine vascular ultrasound examinations, as requested by physician and in accordance with standard practices.
- Ability to thoroughly, and efficiently, evaluate pathology following current guidelines (Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU), Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS), etc.).
- Analyze patient’s medical record to obtain history of symptoms and necessary information for performance of diagnostic procedures.
- Assist in the reaccreditation process and quality improvement program for the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC-Vascular).
- Communicates technical and patient care related information according to established processes and timelines
- Respond to patient questions about procedures and equipment prior to starting the imaging process.
- Operate equipment necessary to perform all required procedures and to obtain optimal diagnostic recording; utilize ancillary devices such as selected transducers, digital networking system, off-line analysis systems as indicated.
- Attends required staff meetings and ensures ensuring continuing education requirements met to support professional growth and certification.
- Rotates to clinical sites as needed.
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)or Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC); or equivalent combination of training and/or experience (may substitute with ARDMS certification on or before December 31, 2000).
- Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty (ies) as appropriate.
- Level I RDMS registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or registry eligible and become registered within twelve (12) months of employment & Must obtain ARDMS certifications in Abdomen, OB/GYN, or Vascular as required by each entity within 18 months of employment.
- Level II Minimum of two years' experience as a Sonographer.
- BLS certification
JOB HOURS:
The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
