Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Addictions Counselor to join our behavioral health team. The Addictions Counselor will be responsible for providing comprehensive counseling and support services to individuals struggling with substance abuse and addiction. This position plays a critical role in helping clients achieve and maintain sobriety, develop coping strategies, and improve their overall quality of life. The ideal candidate will be empathetic, non-judgmental, and skilled in various therapeutic techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address substance abuse and addiction issues.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on clients' needs and goals.
- Facilitate educational workshops on addiction, recovery, and relapse prevention.
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
- Assist clients in developing healthy coping mechanisms and life skills.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
- Coordinate with other healthcare professionals and community resources to provide comprehensive care.
- Monitor and document clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and timely.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field; Master s degree preferred.
- Certification or licensure as an addictions counselor (e.g., CADC, LADC) is required.
- Previous experience in addiction counseling or a related field is preferred.
- Strong understanding of addiction, recovery, and relapse prevention.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must pass employment screenings, including FBI clearance if applicable.
