Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced WiFi Network Analyst to join our IT team. This position will be full-time, Hybrid, and is a contract position, renewed semi annually.
What You'll Do
Design, deploy, and optimize wireless network infrastructure onboard Cruise Ships, Enterprise Office Spaces, Cruise Ship Terminals, and Private Destinations, using Aruba WiFi, Cisco Catalyst WiFi, and Meraki WiFi technologies
Manage RF Spectrum allocation for internal and external RF equipment in a variety of environments
Conduct thorough site surveys and RF analysis to ensure comprehensive coverage and optimal performance of onboard WiFi networks
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including shipboard IT personnel and vendors, to integrate wireless solutions seamlessly into existing network environments
Implement and maintain voice over WiFi (VoWiFi) solutions, ensuring reliable and high-quality voice communications for guests and crew
Monitor network performance and conduct regular audits to identify and address issues proactively, both onboard and during drydock and life cycle management periods
Provide technical guidance and support to shipboard IT teams, assisting with troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues
Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in RF and WiFi engineering, continually seeking opportunities for innovation and improvement
Adapt wireless network designs and configurations to meet the unique challenges and requirements of maritime and harsh shoreside environments, including factors such as ship movement, metal structures, and other challenging environmental conditions
What You'll Need
Required:
Experience in RF and WiFi engineering, with a focus on Aruba WiFi, Cisco Catalyst WiFi, and Meraki WiFi technologies
Proven expertise in wireless network design, deployment, and optimization, particularly in complex and dynamic environments
Strong understanding of RF principles, WLAN standards (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax), and wireless security protocols (WPA/WPA2, 802.1X)
Experience with voice design and implementation, preferably in WiFi environments, with a focus on ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance
Familiarity with Spectrum Analysis tools
Familiarity with maritime wireless networking solutions and the unique challenges associated with providing WiFi connectivity at sea
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues
2+ years in RF design
Maritime experience a plus
Bachelors in Information Technology or equivalent experience
Must be willing to travel up to 50%

Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
