Job Purpose
- Advanced Technician
- Perform installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of fire alarm and special hazard systems
- Ensure that work is completed in a workmanlike manner.
Responsibilities
- Regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location and work schedule. This may include traveling, on-call responsibilities, and/or evening or weekend hours.
- Ensures that inspection, measuring, and testing devices (IMT) are properly used, handled, and stored in order to prevent misuse, abuse, damage, or changes detrimental to equipment accuracy and repeatability.
- Responsible for maintaining valid licenses to perform work.
- Assist with service, inspections, and installations of fire alarm and special hazard systems.
- Inspect and maintain fire extinguishers.
Experience and Expertise Required
- Read and follow design drawings
- Assist in the layout of a fire alarm system or special hazard fire system.
- Oversee and/or perform the installation of a fire alarm or special hazard fire system.
- Update redline drawings in preparation for as built completion
- Commission, Service and/or Inspect most fire alarm and special hazard systems
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- NICET II - Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Alarm Test & Inspect, or Special Hazards
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Ability to work safely in a variety of environments.
**Desired Qualifications
- 3-7 years of experience in fire alarm, security, low voltage and/or systems maintenance.
- NICET III - Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Alarm Test & Inspect, or Special Hazards
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems.
- Ability to make recommendations for improvement.
Work Environment: Work is performed in a warehouse, office, or construction job site setting indoors or outdoors where temperature and noise level may vary greatly. The employee may be near moving mechanical parts, exposed to dust, chemicals, airborne particles, or risk of electrical shock. The employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time.
Physical Demands: The employee is frequently required to use the hands to finger, handle, or feel objects tools or controls or operate a computer. The employee is required to walk, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, climb or crawl in difficult or tight surroundings. The employee must regularly lift, push, pull and move objects up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 300 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.

Compensation details: 28-35 Hourly Wage
