SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented software engineers from the mid-career to senior level to support our programs delivering Next-Generation Missile Warning software. This is a unique opportunity to join a small business delivering core capabilities for National defense. You will work within a fast-paced team designing, developing, and delivering software to produce operational Missile Warning, Missile Defense, Battlespace Awareness, and Technical Intelligence messages using Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR). Our ideal candidate will have direct experience in Missile Warning and OPIR message types, formats, and protocals, be an experienced C++ developer, work well as part of a rapid pace, collaborative, small-team environment and be able to engineer, prototype, develop, integrate, and test advanced software solutions into Government frameworks.
Responsibilities
Works collaboratively on a multi-disciplinary Agile team developing messaging and communications subsystem software for OPIR Missile Warning. May own large tasks.
Demonstrate fluent, idiomatic mastery of C++; comfortable with software design and architecture.
Design and implement software using test driven design principles.
Utilize domain experience to provide team mentorship to junior engineers.
Regularly communicate with team leadership through the Agile process. Participate in program-level meetings and processes.

Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science
Direct experience developing software for communicating on at least one of the following message protocols: RTS, IBS, CMF, GCN, MDS, Link-16
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
Knowledge in C++ language on Linux
Detail oriented
Good verbal and written communication skills
Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferred
Direct experience developing software for producing OPIR Missile Warning messages
Experience refactoring GOTS software
A current DoD security clearance
Professional experience with DevSecOps
Professional or academic experience with Agile software development

The pay range for this position is $115,000 - $190,000 / year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
