Director of Intake - Inpatient Behavioral Healthcare Haven Behavioral Hospital of Albuquerque is a 48-bed licensed, acute care behavioral hospital that provides a safe, nurturing environment for the treatment of complex mental health issues. We offer innovative, customized treatment in both inpatient and outpatient programs, for individuals struggling with mental health and substance abuse issues. This a key leadership role directing patient inquiry, clinical assessment, admissions and referrals in a patient-centered environment.
Responsibilities: - Serves as the leader of the Intake Department, overseeing Intake Clinicians and/or Intake Specialists within the department by ensuring that Intake staff are responding to call inquiries for potential admissions and generalized questions.
- Ensures that processes and procedures are developed, executed, and consistently evolve to meet the needs of the facility and eliminate barriers to accessing care.
- Serves as an exemplary steward of customer service within the department, the facility, and within the community.
- Ensures that the department operates in compliance with hospital policies as related to Intake, assessment, referral, and the admissions process.
- Through strong collaboration, the Intake Director works strategically with the CEO, hospital department leadership, referral sources, community members, patients, and the providers to ensure that the facility's mission of providing exemplary patient care and customer service is upheld.
- Ensures ongoing compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements and maintains survey readiness within the department at all times.
- Focuses on strategic planning to ensure that departmental and facility goals are continually identified and reached.
- Ensures confidentiality of hospital employees and patient information meet HIPAA and hospital standards.
Qualifications - Masters' degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Psychology, Counseling or a related field from an accredited college or university preferred or Registered Nurse
Experience: - Minimum of three years' (five preferred) clinical experience in behavioral healthcare
- 1-year management experience
- Experience with crisis management or intake preferred
- Experience working in an inpatient psychiatric unit or intake preferred
