The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineering Architect to join the Next Generation Product Support team located in Hazelwood, MO, which develops a diverse suite of digital and data analytics capabilities and supports investments in defense platform capabilities for product support across a wide portfolio of US and non-US customers.
This position will lead the software architecture, design, and future technology roadmap for a diverse suite of data analytics and cloud-based next generation product support tools. This role requires a resourceful, self-driven, outcome-oriented individual with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to partner, execute, communicate skillfully, and lead through influence and collaboration across the company while exercising mature judgment. The position will be required to partner with multiple teams to elaborate a system architecture, validate technology assumptions, evaluate implementation alternatives, and elaborate a continuous delivery pipeline structure.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience with a wide range of technologies, software development, solution architecture, requirements management, and business acumen with exemplary senior-level advising, and interdepartmental collaboration.
This position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
Position Responsibilities:
- Reviews business context to ensure software architecture alignment to company objectives
- Delivers modern technical software solutions and future technological roadmaps through partnership with product management and senior leadership
- Analyzes emerging work scope to include Requests for Information or Request for Proposal and supports the development of a technology roadmap, vision, development estimate, and schedule aligned to the overall business objective.
- Work closely with product and delivery teams to ensure smooth deployment of solutions and services
- Communicates the architecture to the stakeholders and collaborates and coordinates with existing domain experts
- Champions a structured approach to solution design, architecture, and development. Assures solutions not only are a fit for the specific purpose but also closely align with the standards guidelines of technology solutions
- Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with customers, stakeholders, and peers. Informing various stakeholders of plans, estimates, progress, risks, and opportunities
- Assesses the business impact of technical choices
- Directs the identification and recommendation of appropriate solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options incorporating business and technology productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership
- Continually researches and stays current on emerging technologies and industry trends
- Mentors earlier career engineers and guides growth of skill within the organization

This position requires the ability to obtain a SECRET US Security Clearance Post-Start for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 12+ years of software engineering development experience
- Experience with software architecture and software implementation
- Experience with web development languages, frameworks, and technologies (e.g. JavaScript, Python, Spring Boot/ Spring Framework, Angular, etc)
- Experience with modern software development methodologies (Scrum, Agile, Kanban, SAFe, DevOps)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 15+ years experience in aerospace software development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and problem solving mindset
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills including senior leader audiences
- Experience with cloud-native development including AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Extensive experience and knowledge of software design patterns
- Extensive technical knowledge in common client and server side frameworks (Spring Boot/Spring Framework, .NET Core, Django, Express)
- Demonstrated experience with microservices architecture
- Demonstrated experience with Zero Trust Architecture
- Experience with the configuration of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for data ingestion
- Experience developing software in the aircraft product services and product support domain to include Maintenance, Repair, & Overhaul support and Performance Based Logistics
Typical Education/Experience:
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience)
- In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Summary pay range for Senior: $141,100.00 - $218,500.00
