Job Summary:
The Activities Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the planning, developing, implementing and evaluating of a diversified wellness program based on resident needs, interests and present/past lifestyle. The wellness services are primarily for geriatric/older adult populations, who are in a variety of settings that may include other populations with special needs. The Activities Supervisor is responsible for resident and program documentation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Completes assessments, development, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of the Wellness program provided and of the unique needs and interest of each resident served.
- Completes all resident documentation in accordance with federal, state, and facility guidelines and documents the activities and needs of each resident. Coordinates and implements a diversified wellness program based on resident needs, which include physical, spiritual, social, intellectual, creativity, leisure, community, and one-to-one activities.
- Coordinates and implements activities for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Organizes and schedules community events related to resident needs and interest.
- Ensures appropriate staffing on a daily basis.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge and complies with policies and procedures of infection control, OSHA, safety, and federal and state laws and regulations. Interacts effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Satisfies all educational in-service requirements mandated by CHI Living Communities, the department, external accrediting, and regulatory agencies.
Job Requirements:
Education: 90-hour Basic Activity Course, OT, or OTA preferred or Certified Activity Specialist
Experience: Two years of experience in social or recreational programs in long-term care preferred.
