Position Title: Exercise Physiologist

Base Pay: $26.39 - $39.30 / Hour
Description: The Exercise Physiologist will be working in the Live Well Fitness Center with both Cardiac Rehab patients and gym community members.
They will be responsible for the ongoing implementation of the cardiac rehabilitation program and demonstrate correct use of exercise equipment and exercise routines.
Essential Functions:
- Interview participant to obtain vital signs, oxygen saturation as appropriate and medical history for evaluating appropriateness of entering cardio health program and/or fitness center
- Work with cardio health participants on individual exercise/rehabilitation program
- Cardiac Rehab focus primarily on implementing and supervising the physical exercise. Take manual blood pressures, pre, post and during exercise and analyze and interpret rhythm strips
- Cardiac rehab supervises exercise session, monitoring participants for inappropriate responses to exercises
- Educate patients in risk factors and lifestyle changes
- Maintains confidential, appropriate participant records in accordance with accepted standards. i.e. DNV, Medicare, HIPPA
- Review and report participant progress and problems to the hospitalist and/or the referring physicians
- Identify any emergencies or health concerns that could warrant additional medical attention and communicate with a team of providers to establish best care
- Explain fitness center program to participant. (Cost, hours, conduct, etc.)
- Write initial and follow-up exercise programs for participants, following physician's recommendation, specifying equipment, for example treadmill, elliptical machine, or bike.
- Conduct individual and group aerobic, strength, flexibility, and Parkinson’s Disease based classes.
- Demonstrate knowledge on correct exercise techniques/form, for motion and treatment.
- Orient participants to fitness center policies and equipment.
- Assist with behavior modification classes, such as stress management, weight control, and related subjects.
- Adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
Requirements: - Master's degree in Exercise Physiology required.
- Good Communication Skills
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Must be able to analyze and interpret cardiac rhythms strips and cardiac monitoring strips
- Must demonstrate ability to take manual vital signs
- CCRP certification preferred, required within one year of hire

6 FTE (48 hours per two weeks) position with flexible, daytime hours. no weekends or holidays.
Compensation details: 26.39-39.3 Hourly Wage
