Premium Audit Mail Auditor | 100% Remote opportunity
General Summary:
Under minimal supervision, the Premium Audit Mail Auditor is responsible for understanding and examining payroll documents, state manual rules and regulations to complete accurate Mail audits and determine true premium on insureds policies. Additionally, they will review hybrid physical audits, work alongside other departments as subject matter experts, and work with our insureds to handle and resolve audit disputes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop a working knowledge of manual rules, state regulations and company standards and procedures to prepare and process final audits and revisions.
- Reviews claims to correct classification and verify employment of major claims.
- Investigates disputes and differences in payroll and classification data as well as communicating findings to the Supervisor or Manager.
- Completes incoming work within the established company standards for quality, timeliness, and productivity.
- Develops and/or recommends training programs to address error trends and assist with completion of process improvement projects.
- Maintains excellent agency, policyholder, and interdepartmental relationships and communications.
- Performs clerical functions such as answering phones, emails, and audit inquiries in a timely manner to provide excellent customer service.
- Notify Underwriting, Claims, and Fraud department as appropriate.
- Endorse renewal policies as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned or as situation dictates.
Minimum Requirements:
- 1-3 years of previous premium audit experience applying either W.C.I.R.B., N.C.C.I. and other bureau rules and regulations or related experience preferred.
- 2 years of college and/or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Job Specific Technical Skills & Competencies:
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently/remote.
- Strong organizational skills preferred.
- Strong communication skills to confidently communicate more complex information effectively.
- Attention to detail to develop the ability of reviewing, sorting and accurately identifying records relevant to the premium audit.
- Intermediate computer skills including ability to use spreadsheets, e-mail, and 10-key by touch.
- Ownership and accountability of output, decisions, and mistakes.
- Basic accounting/bookkeeping knowledge and mathematical aptitude
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the requirements listed above.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- This role is remote, and only open to candidates currently located in the United States and able to work without sponsorship.
- It requires a suitable space that provides a private and quiet workplace.
- Expected Work Hours: Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
- Travel: May be required to travel to off-site location(s) to attend meetings, as necessary
- Occasional lifting of a maximum of 30lbs.
