Job Summary
The Nutrition Services Director oversees all aspects of food production, following the current regulations for TJC, CMS and state and local guidelines.
Job Responsibilities
- Directs daily operations of food production, including purchasing, ordering, inventory, food preparation and menu planning.
- Ensures employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources to perform jobs successfully.
- Ensures standardized recipes are followed.
- Maintains all staff schedules, job descriptions, job flows and assignments.
- Directs the hiring process for the department, including interviewing, hiring, orientation and training.
- Demonstrates a passion for caring as evidenced by interaction with co-workers, residents, families and visitors.
- Develops, implements and supervises standards and policies relating to food production, storage, service and sanitation.
- Interacts with medical, nursing and ancillary staff to improve resident nutritional status and foster departmental success.
- Ability to lead, inspire, develop and motivate culinary team toward service excellence.
Qualifications
- Education
- Bachelor's Degree, Dietetics/Culinary Arts or Food Service Management.
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM)
- Experience
- Minimum 5 years of food service experience in either long-term care or acute care setting.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory ability required.
