We currently have an immediate opening for an Expeditor based in Astrophysics R&D facility, located in Ontario, California and Astrophysics Headquarters, located in City of Industry, California.
Job Summary:
The Expeditor will support the production planning process as it impacts manufacturing operations. The Expeditor will synchronize and facilitate the flow of work and materials between and within the company’s departments.
Essential Functions:
- Review Warehouse copies of picking sheets for the following:
- Ensure all fields of picking sheets are filled in appropriately.
- Review for changes in materials/BOM inaccuracies flagged by Warehouse personnel.
- Report changes in materials/BOM inaccuracies to the Planning Supervisor/Planner for corrections before proceeding to transact.
- Transact initial release of work orders in ERP system and update work order status in the Departments Work Order Log.
- Record the work orders Warehouse history in the Departments Work Order Log.
- Record picking sheet backorders for the Department.
- Manage and maintain the Departments Shortage Report.
- Backorder Management:
- Follow up on backorders.
- Perform inventory allocation/reallocation approved by the Operations Team.
- Coordinate with Procurement; Monitor delivery dates and expedite material to ensure production schedules remain on track. Alert senior personnel of late deliveries of shortages.
- Follow up with Warehouse personnel to confirm receipt and fulfillment of backorders.
- Assist in the follow up of Mexico shortages as needed.
- Assist in weekly validation of open work orders.
- Support Physical Inventory function.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- 6 months of experience in planning, operations, or a related field
- Experience in a Warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- Full-time, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
- (Hours subject to change based on the needs of the business.)
