The Senior Human Resources Generalist provides general Human Resources support to our Company and its subsidiaries. Duties include policy and procedure administration, employee relations, recruitment, employee training and development, Affirmative Action reporting and compliance. Assists with payroll processing for union field personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential duties and responsibilities of this job are included but not limited to this job description – other tasks may be assigned and expected to be performed.
- Administers policies and procedures. Advises managers/supervisors on policies and procedures.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
- Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audits Forms I-9.
- Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner
- Maintain a work environment where employees understand, are comfortable with and proactively accessing appropriate internal support for their interests and concerns.
- Support supervisors and associates with communications, training and coaching on how to interpret and apply HR policies and procedures especially in core areas of interest such as time and attendance, performance management, conflict resolution, investigate complaints, disciplinary action, pay and benefits.
- Address and maintain data on areas of concern to enable systemic problem identification and resolution. This will include participation in onboarding new and transferring associates, management by walking around all shifts, and exit interviews.
- Manages full recruitment function. Actively pursues recruitment networking opportunities for active and passive positions. Engages multiple medias to identify and attract qualified candidates.
- Knowledgeable on OSHA safety requirements. Collaborates with Safety Director on employee safety violations. Active member of Safety Committee.
- Encourage and support associate and manager self-service, where available. Where not available, ensure accurate and timely entry of HR data (hires, data changes, terminations).
- Support Payroll-Timecard management. Work with managers to avoid timecard discrepancies such as time–off balances and leaves of absence. Ensure alignment to time-keeping policies. Maintain and keep track of Time & Attendance all hourly non-exempt employees to ensure compliance with all work rules.
- Ensure all Human Resources processes are aligned with the ISO standards.
- Assemble and ensure data quality for internal reports such as monthly headcount and turnover.
- Reports, maintains and monitors all workers' compensation case files; follows-up on open cases.
- Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviews benefits with employees and assists employees with enrollment and life events. Organizes and manages annual open enrollment communications and election process for site.
- Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
- Leads special projects and/or is a member of a project team as assigned.
- Other tasks/functions as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 7 – 10 years experience in Human Resources with Progressive levels of responsibilities.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office experience with emphasis in Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Prior experience with Kronos Timekeeping is highly desired.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately perform high volume, detailed work.
- Excellent at planning, organization, and managing multiple priorities.
- Effective and professional written and oral communication
- Highly customer service oriented
