- Salary Range: $50,000 - $75,000 annually based upon experience plus commission

SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of a New and Used Truck Salesperson is to meet established sales goals for new and used truck sales through selling to existing customers and seeking out new customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepares and specs all sold orders for Peterbilt
- Identifies and secures all pricing discounts, promotional marketing programs and special rebate allowances.
- Checks all pre-bills and confirm that specs match customer requirements.
- Assist customers in selecting a truck by asking questions and listening carefully to their response to satisfy their transportation needs.
- Explain product performance, application, and benefits to prospects.
- Offer test-drives to all prospects. Follow dealership procedure to obtain proper identification from customer prior to test drive.
- Exhibit a high level of commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Utilize dealership sales control and follow-up system.
- Know and understand federal, state, and local laws which govern retail truck sales.
- Attend product and sales training courses and meetings as requested by management.
- Keep abreast of new products, features, accessories, etc., and their benefits to customers.
- Turn over 100 percent of closed deals to finance and insurance manager, along with properly completed paperwork (insurance information, trade title, etc.).
- Write complete sales orders and process paperwork in accordance with established dealership policies.
- Prepare sold trucks for customer delivery prior to customer arrival.
- Work to maintain and build relationships with existing customers.
- Aggressively prospect for and build business with new customers.
- Perform a minimum of 40 in person sales contacts monthly and enters results into HCMS.
- Deliver trucks to customers, ensuring that the customer understands the trucks operating features, warranty, and paperwork.
- Perform per unit pre-sale and post-sale inspection.
- Introduce customers to parts and service department personnel to emphasize to them the quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance available in the dealership's service department.
- Follow up on all post delivery items, tag/title work, "we-owes", and special requests to be sure that all customer expectations are met.
- Maintain an owner follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business and contributes to customer satisfaction.
- Maintain and utilize Hunter Customer Management Systems.
- Understand the terminology of the truck business and keeps abreast of changes in product technology, incoming inventory, features, accessories, etc.
- Knows and understands the value of used trucks in dealership inventory. Ensure that the used sales manager has an opportunity to meet each customer.
- Conduct truck delivery ensuring that the customer understands the vehicle’s operating features, warranty, and paperwork.
- Make sales calls with self-provided dependable transportation.
- Maintain professional appearance at all times.
- Must be able to drive across county and state lines
- Read and be accountable to The Hunter Family of Companies New and Used Truck Sales Policies and Procedures manual.
- Adhere to and promote all existing health and safety policies in the workplace to reinforce the Hunter culture of a safe work environment
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED required. Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Have the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Have the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Have the ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Driver's License required; must meet company insurability standards
Commercial Driver’s License preferred with 6-12 months of hire; must meet company insurability standards
