Sr. Machine Operator – Weekend Day Shift
United Rotary Brush is an Olathe, Kansas based manufacturer of specialty industrial brushes for the airport, road construction, street sweeping and plow industries. Our Olathe, KS, manufacturing facility (I-35 & Old 56 Hwy) is looking for Sr Machine Operators to work on the weekend day shift. $1000 available in Bonuses*
$3.00 shift differential
Weekend Day Shift | 12-hour days | Friday, Saturday, Sunday 6:00 am to 6:30 pm
SR. MACHINE OPERATOR JOB SUMMARY
Participate in line setup and production of high-volume brushes and brooms. Ensure machines are operating effectively and efficiently and that production needs are met through daily production efforts. Operate machines and perform light to medium trouble shooting diagnostics, maintenance, and cleaning. Perform work that is within safety and quality guidelines.
SR. MACHINE OPERATOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Produce product to quality specifications at required rates of production.
- Make certain that machines utilized are operating effectively and efficiently; efficiently troubleshoot and execute required light to medium maintenance and escalate to supervisor and/or maintenance when maintenance requirements exceed training/ responsibility level for the machine.
- Examples of machine maintenance includes but is not limited to:
- Spun Heads and Resetting Coordinates
- Wire jams at mill and table
- Adjustment and replacement of parts for straightening, conveying, bending, and stuffing of wire.
- Routine Trouble shooting of issues prior to initiating a maintenance request.
- Use correct packaging materials for product being produced and pack correct quantities per work order.
- Properly label product in a manner that shows pride and quality in workmanship.
- Correctly record production information on work orders, process sheets and other paperwork and turn it in at end of shift in a timely manner.
- Correctly complete Hold Tags if product does not meet quality standards and ensure product is moved to hold area.
- Clean and maintain equipment in work area during and at the end of each shift.
- Adhere to safety procedures in all actions.
- Ability and judgement to interact and communicate appropriately with other employees.
- Regular attendance and the ability to be at work regularly and on time is an essential function.
- Adhere to all company policies.
SR. MACHINE OPERATOR MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent
- Requires 1-2 years CNC manufacturing experience.
- 5 years machine manufacturing experience a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
- Problem identification and solving skills.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
*Note: A $500.00 retention bonus will be paid to those eligible participants who are hired while the program is in effect and attain 3 months of continuous employment with United Rotary Brush in their current qualified position. Eligible participants who are hired while the program is in effect and attain 6 months of continuous employment in their current qualified position will receive another $500.00 bonus. The bonuses are subject to all applicable taxes. Details of this program will be discussed at time of hire.
